It isn't the greatest game ever, but it certainly is fun, and hard to put down when you get into it. The loading time upon starting the game was a little long, but honestly, it was the only time that a loading screen was seen, too--never saw another one while I was playing. I admit that the inability to change controls on the controller is rather annoying, but the layout as it is is just fine, I think, since on a controller, the Dash button was right next to the Jump, and the two attacks were in good reach, too. Now, personally, this game charmed me the minute the cutscene started, since it channels an RPG story fairly well, similarly to one you'd play on the Super Nintendo, and seeing that put into a platformer with some 'vania elements, I couldn't help but fall in love with it. I admit, some of the attacks seem a little clunky at times, such as the sword upper you can do with your blade-wielding characters, as it leave you vulnerable when you come down, but skills have been fairly diverse so far, and I look forward to delving in further to see what else awaits me! owoThough, on another note, there have been a few little...iffy moments, two of them standing out more so than others. First, why does touching the "tutorial" boss kill you instantly? I know we're supposed to be getting some challenge, but, that seems kinda extreme for so early in the game. Second, there's a nifty secret area in the castle area that resembles, and even sounds like an NES game, but, upon finding the treasure there, and backtracking to the previous area, I discovered that, well...I couldn't leave. Going the way I came was out of the question, since it was like walking into a wall, and the other doorway which LOOKS like it could be an exit doesn't go anywhere, either, so my only option was to get myself killed by the mob of zombies, which, took quite a while since the character I was using had a lot of health. <w<; last of all, the boss of said castle spews lots of projectiles your way, one of which resembling one from a game many of us remember, if you've played Super Mario World on the SNES. Touch that, and it's an instant death, and it can be quite cumbersome to avoid, often leaving you hit, and instantly dead. Earlier before, when you drop underground into a room with two big mushrooms, and a bridge, going off to the left will lead you to plummet to your doom, since it hasn't been blocked off. And, last of all, the text seems to scroll by on its own, and it does so at random speed, or so it seems. Due to this, I missed a bit of text when trying to advance the text myself, being used to doing so in other RPGs and platformers, so...I hope this is changed later, or that you're at least given the option to choose manual, or auto.Other than these, so far, I'm quite enjoying myself. I hope that you will give the game a chance in some way, it really is quite nice, and I imagine multiplayer would be quite fun! If I can update this, I'll do so after trying it out somehow.Pros:An RPG story with multiple characters fit for multiplayerNice graphicsDecent enough controlsCons:Loading screen takes a little timeA few insta-kills here and therePersonally, I rate this game 7.5 out of 10, and I think it's worth a try to see if you like it or not! A dollar isn't a bad price to look into it, I say.. Task manager to the rescue.. tl;dr I regret paying a dollar for this, let alone 10.-Small game starts: Long load screen that makes you think it's unresponsive. -Then it displays a long unresponsive intro. -Once you get into the game itself, the story is somewhat skippable and gives a quick description of abilities and lets you go. -It starts you off going right until you go left, then you stop. -You will always automatically move right when you've started going. -This will murder your boss fights as you will constantly have to go back and forth instead of staying still. -There is no ducking, so you will have to jump over orbs that other games you would think would pass over you.-The controls aren't responsive enough to jump over the orbs effectively.-Uninstalled as any sane person would.. This game is more like an early-access beta. I think that it is not fair to ask 15 euros for a game which is not stable. I bought this game to play it with my girlfriend as local co-op as we usually do on Steam. Our experience was very negative for the first 30 minutes we tried to actually get into game. Too many bugs, here are the few to mention:1. Loading time is like one minute, just black screen, no information about loading time or whatsoever.2. Re-mapping the keys is a mess. You set up a player 1 keys properly, then make player 2 keybinds to controller and the controller's buttons remap to the player 1 keys? What is the logic here?3. Got into game, we tried to play, as expected the player 2's controller controlled both players. 4. Tried to get into settings within game, pressed Esc -> hard quit, game went to desktop, what is this logic? Please test your games properly before releasing as these kind of releases are the reason people download games instead of buying them. To avoid such negative experiences. Loved the idea of game, implementation made me sad.Refund requested.. Plays like alot of the Megaman game and it has Local Multiplayer! so far im having fun with this one!. SNAPSHOTAn unfinished middle school class project, at best.OVERALL - 1.5 \/ 10PROS+ satisfying combat \/ movement mechanics CONS- extremely buggy, frustrating, and unfinished- horrible interface \/ options- art was ripped from every classic SNES game you can think ofDETAILSI have to be honest, I have no idea how some people are saying this is the "best game they've ever played", unless they've never played any other games or they're acquainted with the developer somehow. Atrocious does not even begin to describe how terrible it is. This game looks and feels like a pre-alpha build, and plays like an unfinished project for a class of middle schoolers. One of the dialogues, for instance, says an NPC has a pet eagle named Cheeseburger, and the art feels like it was taken directly from default stock content, placed somewhere in the game, and then forgotten about. Actually, most of the art and animations look like they were ripped straight out of other games and "repurposed" for this one. Whether this is meant to be an homage to oldschool games or just a lack of any other ideas to the contrary remains unclear.Overall the game is a just an unpolished, buggy pile of crap, that should be labeled "Early Access" at best. Players will constantly die from getting hit by a single enemy and falling into the multitude of pits or traps the game has that kills them instantly, or fall through terrain for no reason, or even just die from absolutely nothing due to one of the plethora of bugs. There are no instructions as to what buttons do anything, which often times vary depending on the context. Some dialogues can be advanced by hitting one of the attack buttons, while others inexplicably only accept the jump button. "Cutscenes" happen out of nowhere, and will completely skip sections of the game when they are activated. Every shop for seems to only sell 2 items, but there's about a dozen different shops instead of just 2 shops selling a dozen items. Level layouts are confusing and downright terrible. Often there are rooms with no visible exits or a random boss in the middle of nowhere. Some doors are locked, but when opened provide absolutely nothing except an extra set of rooms that serve no purpose. Sometimes the only way to progress is to save and then fall down every hole until you find one that doesn't kill you, assuming you don't randomly fall through terrain and die beforehand anyway.Despite all of this, though, combat isn't terrible, and there are a number of characters that can be unlocked. When you're not dying because you got hit once and your character hitstunned backwards 10 feet off a ledge or into spikes, it is still fun to kill a multitude of enemies. That being said, it is still not enjoyable enough to overlook the complete lack of anything else good in the game.I'm not sure if the "Casual" tag is meant to indicate that it is meant to be played casually, or if it is just being developed that way, but all in all I would not recommend picking this game up without a major set of updates and fixes. The story and dialogue are god awful, the music and art are probably infringing on a number of copyrights, and the lack of any coherent direction in the game make this nigh unplayable.. The idea of this game is amazing. However, I have never been able to even play the game. Each time I've purchased it, it never works. I see that, on occasion, it gets updated, but nothing changes. Same ole crap. I would play a game like this in an instant. Just as long as it runs properly.
